Holiday mobile homes

Mobile homes for holiday use are perfect if you want to get away on holiday whenever you want and have everything you need in place, right down to clothes. Some parks even allow you to sublet the home when you are not using it, and in many cases, the park will manage the service for you. It can be rented out every week if the park is in demand in the high season.

Unlike residential mobile homes, three-bedroom holiday homes do make sense, although be careful if the park has occupancy charges, not so much if you rent out but ouch when you have family staying with you.

Beach location for mobile homes

Location for holiday homes

It does not matter which part of Spain you are thinking of buying a holiday mobile home in; a local beach always comes top of the list as a must.

The facilities a park will offer will be different as well. Parks near a beach will use that as the main feature and compliment that with a clubhouse and perhaps a children’s play area.

In many cases, the park could be a campsite as well. If that is the case, then there will be more facilities, including a pool. Two examples of campsites that also have mobile home sections are Camping Valle Niza near Torre del Mar and Camping Cabopino near La Cala de Mijas both on the Costa del Sol.

These parks will be seasonal but not necessarily closed at any point in the year. Christmas can be just as busy as August sometimes. Plot sizes on camping parks tend to be smaller with an average around 110 square metres.

Renting when not in use

Renting out a home when not in use means one thing, free holidays if you have the home rented out in high season, which covers site fees when you are using it. If it is rented out all the time you are not using it, you will be earning.

To rent a home out whilst not using it, the park or agent will provide a service for handover and cleaning. Their services will come out of the profit you are making from renting it out.

On this site, listings are clearly marked as residential or holiday, but you will find that only certain parks allow homes to be rented out. If that is the purpose of buying a holiday home, please check with the seller first.

Holiday resort pools

Holiday resorts

If planning to buy a mobile home in a dedicated holiday resort, there will be nothing residential about it at all. It will be like being on holiday 24/7, and one thing is certain you will meet lots of new people.

One of the biggest in Spain is the Marjal resort. They have camping, wooden holiday cottages and plots for mobile homes. They also have many pools, restaurants of every kind as well as sports facilities. When staying in a holiday resort, you will be sharing the facilities with many people who like you will be on holiday.

You must want a holiday experience for the whole time you stay in the home if you buy one in a holiday resort or plan to earn when not using it.

It is worth pointing out that holiday resorts cater more for families and that is what makes them so attractive, there is always something to keep the kids occupied allowing parents to enjoy the holiday experience as well. Owning a mobile home also means you have everything in place the moment you arrive.
